Wolfgang Grefinger (c.1470-after 1515)

German or Austrian composer. He studied under Hofhaimer, probably in Innsbruck, and became organist at St Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna. In 1515 he published his Cathemerinon, containing four-voice settings of hymns. His music was greatly esteemed in his lifetime and long remained popular. His numerous Tenorlieder were his most important works, though he also composed Latin motets.
